In this new catalogue by Erika Matsunami you will find an interview with me about my project “Peace-Utopia or Real Space?”, in arttransponder 2008, in the context of which Erika Matsunami presented her performance Still/Silent. This catalogue presents the STILL/SILENT project in various phases of its development by means of photographs and video stills and provides insights into the artistic methods of Matsunami and her collaborators Anissegos, Dahlgren and Schmincke. In addition, ?still/silent? is discussed theoretically in conversations between the participating artists on the various aspects of their respective work and in the interviews conducted by Matsunami herself with the curators Shaheen Merali and Tatjana Fell, who explore the social dimension of artistic mediation in particular. Finally, Dr Miya Yoshida, Dr Susanne Hauser, Natasha Bordiglia and Gye-Joong Kim explore the aspects of cultural difference and its possible reconciliation in art in their respective essays. Text: Erika Matsunami
Berlin 2011, 96 pages, approx. 150 illustrations, 21cm x 21 cm, softcover, English, includes a DVD with audio-visual works and videos of the performances (2007-2010)

Essays and interviews shed light on the intersections and boundaries of the relationship between art and the natural sciences. Mechanisms of presentation and reception are analysed and historical and economic references are established.
Due to the diversity of the contributions, which show considerations of a theoretical and practical nature, the relationship between art and the natural sciences can no longer be thought of without its immediate frame of reference.

postproduction dialogue reflects on the previous exhibition, which took place in November 2004 at arttransponders Projektraum Berlin.
Against the background of Nicolas Bouriaud’s concept of “post-production” in contemporary art, a selection of multi-layered texts by the artists Tamara Albaitis, Constanze Eckert, Tatjana Fell, Lisa Glauer, Raj Kamal Kahlon, Miru Kim, Millette Tapiador and Anna Zosik was created. These texts explore subjective attitudes and approaches to the theme and the realised artwork.
