RADICANT NETWORKS

||| interdisciplinary exchange research & cooperation platform for contemporary art practice & critical discourse

RADICANT NETWORKS focuses on visualizing and reflecting the complexity of art and cultural production, created by artists and cultural workers who are in temporary or constant movement between places and countries.

Using different formats, RADICANT NETWORKS investigates and researches fields of action that arise through the continuous shifting of reference points between travel routes and the context of action.

RADICANT NETWORKS taps into the potential and richness of multi-layered perspectives by addressing similar, overlapping content, concerns and visions within the art field and questions mechanisms of art production within their social, cultural, political and theoretical contexts.

A key element of the network is the sharing and gathering of knowledge through constant exchange and changing collaborations and the opening up of research to a broad public.

Based on personal encounters, dialog and exchange, Radicant Network’s core is the cooperation and interconnection with artists, theorists, scientists, cultural workers and interested initiatives and individuals who directly influence the profile, help to shape it, define the focus of interest and shape the future of this network.
RADICANT , a botanical term, describes in brief those plants that have the ability to grow without their own roots. RADICANT NETWORKS was inspired by Nicolas Burriaud’s publication RADICANT.

RADICANT comes from botany and is, in short, a plant that does not need deep roots to grow. RADICANT NETWORKS was inspired by the book RADICANT by Nicolas Burriaud.
