We do not begin with Bachelard, Lefebvre, Heidegger or Hölderlin, nor with Hannah Arendt or Plato, we begin with ourselves and with ourselves, with the exploration of the obvious, always present and inescapable isolation, the inside and outside of our own existence, the person, the artist person.
We do not work from the context to the text, from the periphery to the center, from cultural, political, social fields to interfaces with their designers – to terra humanum – as is usually the case with our artistic works.
It is created from “nothing”, color is derived from white, temporality from transparency, order from the finiteness of language and the tone of movement and resistance from action, the sound gives the sound of hope or abandonment and throws back what one can feel and sense oneself.

Conceived as a work in progress, within this installation we decide to negotiate, cooperate, collaborate and embark on a joint journey of research, to trace, touch, look at and discover the places of limitation and perforation, edges, cuts and overlaps, and the value that emerges from them ? beyond the usual negations of severing, splitting off, separating.
Born in Colombia, Fernando Niño-Sanchez focuses in particular on impressions of cultural diversity and deals with social acculturation processes and confrontations with visual realities on an aesthetic level.
My works reflect zones of transition from latent existence to visibility, hierarchical structures, evaluation systems, as well as connotations and their modes of action and open up transitions to participation.
In Axel Obiger’s installation, which was specially designed for the space, we work with a network of metaphors and references that are revealed when the visitor actively engages with them.
With our performance “The essence of borders”, we are expanding this research.
Poetry of Limits is both an homage and a search ? a tactile exploration of spatial experience synchronized with a moment of reassurance. Space reveals itself here as a condition and relation, not as a place and ? as our bodies are exposed to their movement ? we construct space incessantly, within a process of self-knowledge and the recognition of others.
Positioning in space is therefore a stance in being itself, a mutual dependence of body and space. Our hands are ours when they touch. Where will touch be reflected? How warm will the room be between resistance and spaciousness?
Exploring limitations is a journey, an exploration of our ability to perceive the outside world, the other, the others. Limitations are fleeting. They are grammar, structuring layers of individual textures and contexts. Boundaries are fine lines (perforated), they separate and at the same time define the inside and outside, me, you, us. Boundaries are positioning and a fixed point for reaching out into the universe.
The video documents the exploration of the responsibility that we assume by setting and respecting boundaries and thus simultaneously shaping the space that surrounds us. We have decided not to let the colors appear completely saturated in order to depict a search process that is in a constant state of incompleteness and movement. The milky-blue, translucent filter refers to our personal perception of limitations and denotes their latent appearance in the midst of their dynamically developing and dissolving existence.
